The EZQR Chrome extension is a QR code generator that lives in your toolbar. Click the icon on any page and the tab's address is already in the Link field, so a QR code for what you're looking at is one download away. Prefer a different kind of code? Switch to Wi-Fi, contact, SMS, email, phone, or location. Everything is generated locally in the popup — nothing is uploaded — and it uses the same encoders as ezqr.ca, so your code scans identically.

How to Make a QR Code in Chrome

  1. Install the extension. Add EZQR — QR Code Generator from the Chrome Web Store and pin it to your toolbar.
  2. Open it on any page. Click the EZQR icon — the current tab's URL is pre-filled for a one-click "QR this page." Or choose another type: Wi-Fi, contact card, SMS, email, phone, or location.
  3. Style, check, and download. Pick a style or set custom colors, let the scannability check confirm it reads, then download a print-ready PNG or copy the image to your clipboard.

What the Extension Does

QR the page you're on

The active tab's URL is pre-filled, so a QR code for the current page is a single click away — great for sharing an article, product, or doc.

Seven code types

Link, Wi-Fi, contact card (vCard), SMS, email, phone, and location — the same field sets and encoders as ezqr.ca.

Styles and custom colors

Classic, rounded, and gradient presets, or set your own colors to match your brand.

Built-in scannability check

A live warning flags inverted or low-contrast colors before you download, so you never print a code that won't scan.

Download PNG or copy

Grab a print-ready 1200px PNG, or copy the image straight to your clipboard to paste anywhere.

Private by design

Codes render locally in the popup — nothing is sent to a server. It uses the activeTab permission only, with no broad site access.

Want a Code You Can Edit and Track?

The extension makes static QR codes — the content is baked into the pattern, so they're free forever and never expire. When you need to change where a printed code points, or see how many people scan it and where, dynamic QR codes on ezqr.ca let you swap the destination anytime and track every scan without reprinting.

EZQR Everywhere You Work

The Chrome extension is one of several ways to make an EZQR code. You can generate one right on ezqr.ca, or make a QR code without leaving Reddit with our Reddit QR code app. Wherever you make it, the code scans the same.
