Outside of EZQR, I do pro-bono technical work for charities and nonprofits. One Canadian charity I'm grateful for is the Neil Squire Society, which uses technology to empower Canadians with disabilities. Their Hearing Solutions program — no- and low-cost hearing tests, hearing aids, and cerumen management delivered with genuine, expert compassion — has helped me, my family, and a few of my coworkers. Canadian charities and similar nonprofits get five years of sponsored dynamic QR codes on EZQR — it's the same idea, applied to the product.

Who actually runs your QR code generator?

It's a fair question to ask of any tool you're about to trust with your brand's links — your menu, your signage, the code you'll print a thousand times. With EZQR you can answer it completely, because everything about who's behind it is out in the open:

• A named person, not a faceless brand. EZQR is built and run by Sean Wilson — a real, named individual you can look up, not an anonymous company hiding behind a logo.
• A public identity you can verify. My own site, seanwilson.ca, is linked right here — same name, same face, same work history.
• A location you can point to. EZQR is operated from British Columbia, Canada. You know which country and province your QR codes are managed in.
• A direct line to the builder. Email [email protected] and it reaches me — the person who writes the code — not an outsourced ticket queue.
• You can even get me on the phone. Not many people who build software will hop on a call — I will. Email [email protected] and I'll share a number so we can talk it through. (Keeping it off the public page just spares us both the robocalls.)

None of that should be unusual to expect, yet it's surprisingly rare to get. A lot of QR code generators are run by a company you can't name, from a place you can't find, with support that answers to no one in particular. Before you trust any generator with a code you can't easily reprint, it's worth asking it the same question — and seeing whether it can answer.

Why EZQR exists

QR codes are useful, but many generators are jam-packed with ads or secret pricing.

EZQR's static QR codes are just that - static QR codes - and are free forever. They don't expire, get watermarked, or depend on EZQR being online ( a static QR code encodes the destination directly into the image). Dynamic QR codes on the other hand - the ones that you can change after printing or track scans for - are a paid feature. That split is the entire idea. EZQR is built and priced in a way that it becomes self-sufficient to keep running with just a handful of dynamic QR code subscribers.

What you can count on

• Static codes work without EZQR. If EZQR disappeared tomorrow, every static QR code you generated here would keep working. The data in static QR codes lives in the QR code itself.
• Payments are handled by Stripe. Card details never touch our infrastructure.
• HTTPS everywhere. Every connection to ezqr.ca and the dashboard is encrypted in transit.
