Home WiFi QR Code Generator Walkthrough
How to Make a WiFi QR Code
Let guests join your WiFi by scanning — enter your network name and password, pick your encryption type, download the code, and print it. No more reading passwords aloud.
What the video covers
- Type your network name (SSID) — Enter it exactly as it appears when you connect — SSIDs are case-sensitive, so match the capitalisation and spacing.
- Enter the WiFi password — Type the password for the network. Everything is generated right in your browser — your SSID and password are never uploaded to us.
- Pick the encryption type — WPA covers WPA, WPA2, and WPA3 and is right for almost every modern router. Choose WEP only for very old equipment, or None for an open network.
- Download the QR code — Download as PNG, JPG, or SVG. Use SVG for print so the code stays crisp at any size — on a table tent, a guest-room card, or a fridge magnet.
- Test it, then place it where guests connect — Scan with both an iPhone and an Android to confirm the join prompt appears. For public spots, point it at a guest network rather than your main WiFi.
